Bamboo Sprouts

OUCH! (edited to add a funny)

A neighbor backed right into my brand new car this weekend.  As you can see, it basically needs a new bumper so this is not a crisis but my heart was broken and I have fretted about it all weekend.  We have not even made a payment yet.  It doesnt even have 500 miles on it yet.  It doesn’t have plates yet.  Sigh.

So I know this seems absurd  considering these little nicks on the bumper, but they TOWED it away today.  It is leaking antifreeze so at first we thought the radiator was cracked but now we think its just the little plastic radiator reservoir but either way, we were told to have it towed since it’s leaking.

There she goes.

At least it was some good Monday morning entertainment.

Edited to add a funny.  :)   As it was being towed, Sophie said “well there goes our freakin car!” and I said WHAT honey?  I didn’t understand you.  I would venture to say the kids have never heard cussing of any kind except last night when I said things like oh crap the car is making a crazy noise (due to the leaking anti-freeze situation).  So I was sure I could not have heard her right.  And so she said it again, ”there goes our freakin car!”.  And I said I just dont think I understand you and she said “well is our car still FREAKING OUT like it was last night?”  LOL  Sure enough, last night I had been fuming about the car freaking out.  ROTFLOL  :)

  1. Ouch is right! Why is it our older vehicles seem to avoid damage but get a new one and BAM! I’m sure who ever is fixing it will make it look brand new. If you were here in Michigan I would recommend my son’s place. He runs an independent auto body repair shop and is known for quality work and customer service.
Sophie looks amused but Bella and Levi look a little worried :)

Awww, bummer! Sorry to hear about the “accident”. Hope you’re not w/o a van for too long.

  3. Isn’t that the way things seem to happen? Get a new car and something happens to it. Neighbors make the car freak out?

That is funny (what she said, not that it got hurt)

  4. That is fantastic!! LOVE it- thanks for sharing!!!
I LOVE the way our children’s minds work- they are amazing!

  5. that just totally cracked me up! sorry about your car though :(

  6. UGh…that totally stinks…so sorry about that. But, I have to say that Sophie’s comment really made me laugh…LOVE kids!!! :)

  7. Why do new cars attract other cars? I never had a fender bender until about 3 months after buying my first new car. And my sister’s car was totaled 3 days after it was purchased! So sad!

I love the freakin comment. It is funny how those random comments come back to haunt you!

  10. Ugh! Why is it always when it’s brand-spanking new? My stepdad got rear-ended in his brand new car. First day on the road! This was years ago and he’s refused to buy a new car since…although he says he’s not superstitious!
