Snappy Sneakers
I am not a fan of character clothing. My “rule” is usually PJ’s only. So Dora jammies, sure. But Dora and Pooh Bear on clothes they wear out and about? Just not my favorite thing. But maybe it’s kind of like everything else. Never say never. Never say you will NEVER drive a mini-van. Never say you will NEVER feed your kiddo fast food. LOL Well you can, but turns out those things didn’t work out for me. And especially for BOYS, their clothing choices are more limited so sometimes a Mickey Mouse on a t-shirt is cute. Anyhow, our little man is into SUPERHEROS. LOL He doesn’t understand one from the next so he calls them Super Spidermans. All of them. Batman, Superman, Spiderman…they are all Super Spiderman. LOL
Well this week, we went from some very cool black Converse high tops to some not so cool (unless you are THREE!) Super-Spiderman shoes. With velcro. And flashing lights. Oh my these things are bad. But to Levi, they are bad in a good way. When he spotted these fancy shoes at Walmart, he exclaimed that those were FAST shoes. How could I say no to that. Every boy should have some FAST shoes. LOL

I know this is crazy blurry but it was the only way I could get the flashing lights to show up.

So if you see him coming (and how can you NOT?), feel free to mention that you can’t believe how FAST those shoes are!
If he wasn’t fast asleep at the moment I would take a picture of how well he takes care of these shoes. I mean he just got them yesterday so I am sure this will wear off, but so far he puts them on as soon as he wakes up (with his pj’s) and takes them off just before bed. And when he takes them off, he stuffs the tissue back in them and puts them back in the box they came in. LOL

I’m kinda the same way with that — although Chloe is wearing a hand-me-down princess jacket constantly. AND she desperately wants princess sneakers. sigh.
these are CUTE sneakers Levi is wearing…and they aren’t ‘over the top’ He looks so delighted in his FAST shoes! Bravo on giving in : ))

That is too funny! I was the same way! No characters! But when I saw how happy they made Carl, I just had to give in. Just this morning when he saw his Thomas the train engine shirt we had laid out for today, he got so excited, he grabbed the shirt and ran around the house hugging it. How can I deny him that joy??? Now Katie-Beth does have a few characters but they just don’t excite her the way they do him. Even with her love of Spider-man, she would rather have animals on her clothing.
Oh! and those are super-cool shoes!

Isn’t it just a booger of a thing. Little girl shoes are great and fun and colorful, but little boy shoes are blah and boring. One of my pet peeves. Acer doesn’t need lots of shoes, but I’d like the ones he has to be fun and not comic book super hero. That’s pretty dern hard to do. Snowboots were almost impossible to find for him. BTW Acer has that shirt in the winged lion print.

Look at that winning smile on Levi in his new, fast kicks!
I am so with you on the “no characters on clothing” thing (PJ’s definitely OK though!)! There’s something about it that’s so….I don’t even know! lol! I just no it doesn’t work for me. Fortunately, Kiara’s not flips over it either…her grandma gave her an Elmo sweater (actually, it is kind of cute) & she refuses to wear it! She also has a Dora sweatshirt & refuses to wear it. So, for now, I’ll thank my lucky stars. I’m sure this is also a phase that won’t last & before you know it she’ll be wearing…gasp!…a Hannah Montana something or other!!

OH!!! Re: AI… You called it…Can’t say I’m surprised…& does Kristy Lee Cook have 29 lives, or what?? lol!

Love ‘em! Iknow that the characters and lights might be a bit over the top, but you’re only a kid ONCE Mom! In the grande scheme of things- he will still likely outgrow the desire for light up shoes but YOU will have scored points for being a super cool Mom! How can you go wrong?!
AZMOM
Busy Boy has a pair of Power Ranger shoes right now that light up and are velcro too. He loves them so much. He told me the same thing…these are FAST shoes mama. It must be a boy thing! LOL

I am the SAME way about character clothing. I *shudder* at the Disney princess clothing and Avonlea LOVES them in the store…but on the rack they stay.
Adam LOVES Disney CARS. oh good Lord, the child is insane about them. I *fear* our next pair of shoes will also be flashy and character laden. BUT he will be able to JUMP really high and RUN really fast
Love the pics

I’ve been lucky so far, none of my girls want anything to do with characters on their clothes! (whew) but now with a boy coming…I ave a feeling things may change! LOL
Lily loves pretending to be a super hero! She runs around all day with a little blanket over her shoulders.
Levi looks soo happy!!! I love it!

I LOVE his new “fast” shoes (and the picture of him wearing them). I really think it’s a “boy thing” to have fast shoes with characters on them. For my Jake it was a pair of Thomas the Tank Engine sneakers when he was 3, and they did light up! Now he’s 5 and he doesn’t really care about the characters, they just have to be FAST!!!
And though I am the same way about character clothes (p.j.’s are okay) he has had many “Thomas” and “Cars” t-shirts. What is it about boys, especially when they’re 3? They can talk you into about anything!! LOL
It’s so much fun to see how proud he is of his new shoes, you sure made his day!

Love it! I still wish they made the flashy shoes for adults…I’d so have a pair!
