Happy V-Day!

We made these Valentines to give out at Chinese School yesterday. They had such fun giving Valentines.
I have very fond memories of my Dad bringing big-tacky-ruffley-heart shaped boxes of chocolates home for my sister and I when we were kids. As a matter of fact, my dad was here last night for his bday bash and what do you think he showed up with?! Except the boxes are rectangle, grown up looking boxes instead of ruffley hearts.
And I keep hearing what a pain Vday is but I just can’t help but remember how much we liked that sort of thing. I think it may be a pain to make store bought boxed Valentines for classmates, and I don’t have great memories of that part of it, but we had fun making the little homemade Valentines and today Rick and I will have fun giving them their goodies.

So waiting on the table for each of them this morning is a fleece blanket that I made (can you guess which one goes with which kiddo? LOL) and a gift bag with a book, a dvd and a heart shaped box of chocolates.
And we will have things like heart shaped pancakes and then heart shaped brownies for dessert tonight.
Much love to you and yours as well.
XO

Those sucker valentines are so cute! What a great idea. I’m sure they will love their gifts, especially those warm blankets.

Those fleecies are wonderful!! If I had a sewing machine I’d make my own.
Happy Love Day to the family!

You inspire me. I am sure I have told you this before. I try to make a point of creating special moments for my kids (they are a bit too young to notice right now though) but you blew me out of the water with heart shaped pancakes (well, with everything)! Where did you get the forms for the pancakes? I think that is SUCH a great idea.

Love the blankets!!! Busy Boy has one that a friend of mine made for him when he was in the hospital as a baby. They look so easy to make! What a great idea for V-day!
