Welcoming the Rat

The kids woke up to red envelopes filled with chocolate gold coins and also to electric toothbrushes.  LOL  The toothbrushes aren’t traditional and I hope they don’t somehow mean bad luck.  ;)   They have just been wanting electric ones and I found these for a dollar and set them out with the envelopes.  :)

 

 

For dinner…well I took the easy way out. 

 

 

And then some lantern making.

 

At one point in the evening I said tonight sure would be even MORE fun if we were in CHINA because they have big parties and set off fireworks and party in the streets and Sophie said well then we need to dopt another baby so we can go there.  LOL  I did point out that we could just go to China for a VISIT and not a “doption”.  She didn’t think that was as good an idea.

    I think that toothbrushes for the new year must be auspicious! LOL I know I can’t survive without my electric one. My mom bought one after she saw mine, and packed it in her luggage. When she got home from the airport her suitcase was buzzing ominously and she thought someone had planted a bomb in it, so she threw it out onto the lawn. It was only after she calmed down that she remembered the toothbrush. ROTF…

    I love the toothbrushes! Cleans the teeth after the chocolate lol!! I HAVE got to learn how to make laterns…any suggestions?

    What a GREAT idea! We are going to the CNY celebration here next Saturday so we did not do a lot here on Thursday! I think next year I am going to steal your idea though :-)
