Bamboo Sprouts

Menu Monday 11/5

I wasn’t going to post a menu today.  I was busted last week as we ate McDonalds for DINNER…I mean stopping at McD’s during the week for a quick lunch with the kids is one thing but for DINNER?…and Rick mentioned it would be “funny” to post what we REALLY eat some nights.  I believe pork roast was on the menu the night we were consuming make-shift burgers.  Ok, so THIS will be the week.  I picked up a minimal amount of groceries yesterday and this is what I plan to do with them this week.  I am in a nesting mood with not too much extra stuff going on this week so hoping to get some things done around home.  Including cooking.  :)

Monday- homemade chicken noodle soup

Tuesday-spaghetti and salad and garlic bread

Wednesday- chili and cornbread

Thursday-meatloaf, mashers and peas

Friday- Going out with other moms of Chinese kiddos to celebrate that someone is soon traveling for her new 10 year old daughter.  :)   Kids and Rick will fend for themselves with leftovers, macncheese or frozen pizza

Saturday- the pork roast that is still in the freezer! with sweet potatoes and salad

Sunday- pulled pork sandwiches and sweet potato fries

for sweet tator fries, slice them into fries, put in gallon ziplock, toss with 2T olive oil, spread on cookie sheet in single layer and sprinkle with fresh parmesan (not kraft in green shaker thingy) and bake 350 for up to an hour.  Depends how thin or thick you cut them and all that.  super yum even for those who aren’t sweet tator fans.

  1. Yummy! We made chili and cornbread last week! I love sweet potato fries! I am going to have to add those to a future menu plan!

  2. Hey, we all need a week like that every now and then! Thanks for reminding us that we all struggle with the same things. :) Looks like a yummy menu this week! I hope you have a great week “nesting” and enjoying your home and family.

  3. Oh, you’re brave to take an organizing challenge. I wish I had the cojones to post the messiest parts of my house. But that’s never gonna happen. Never.

  4. We are doing a complete ‘out of the freezer/pantry’ week while Mike is away! So far so good, Monday went off without a hitch, I used leftover shepards pie meat that I froze from a couple of weeks ago, threw in some curry powder, served with rice voila!

Now, I don’t do the golden arches, but I have been known to order a pizza or two in my day!

  5. That is so plain honest! Thanks for giving us non menu planners some hope. ( cannot stick to a menu plan for the life of me.) Your menu and Mcdonalds sounds good!
