Bella’s Fifth Birthday

When I “revealed” Bella’s cake to her this morning, she gasped and said “oh my!…(gasp again)…I just have no words!”. A cake that leaves Bella speechless? Priceless. LOL Actually, it is NOTHING like what she requested and Sophie saw it first as I was making it and said oh no, where are the “jewels” that Bella wanted?? And my heart sank. But Bella’s reaction was perfection. 
With no real Bday plan (I know GASP!) I decided that we would invite cousins to meet us for a game of bowling tonight.
After using the children’s cheater bar most of the game, and being ahead of even the adults for most of the game, at the end she decided to give it a whirl without the bar. Her score went down but the fun factor went UP.
Then we came on home for cake and gifts. We kept things SO much simpler than usual and yet, I think our Birthday girl was pleased as punch. I hope so anyhow.
